REFRACT Platform is engineered specifically for Microsoft environments and provides native integration with Dynamics 365 Business Central, Power Platform, Azure, and Microsoft 365, with Dynamics 365 Sales coming soon. If your organization's primary cloud is AWS or Google Workspace, REFRACT Platform's core architectural advantages (documents stored in your own SharePoint or Azure storage, native SharePoint storage, Microsoft Entra ID identity) do not transfer. Every platform capability is also available via REST API, which allows non-Microsoft applications to connect where the primary runtime environment remains Azure.

The REFRACT Platform dispatcher and processor deploy inside your Azure subscription. REFRACT hosts the signer and recipient portal, licensing and notifications. Rendering runs in your Azure subscription; documents and audit records are stored in your own SharePoint or Azure storage. Your organization retains ownership and control of your documents, storage, security policies, audit records, and governance processes. Your IT and cloud architecture teams provision and own the Azure resources, which also means Azure resource costs are yours to manage directly.

Refract Logic does not hold independent HIPAA or SOC 2 certifications. REFRACT Platform provides the compliance-enabling controls: append-only, cryptographically chained audit trails, governed approval workflows, documents stored in your own SharePoint or Azure storage, accessibility at render time, and policy-based retention. Compliance outcomes depend on how your team configures and locks down your specific Azure tenant, your organizational policies and procedures, and your applicable regulatory scope. The architecture is compliance-ready. Your compliance team and auditors verify and certify against your requirements.

REFRACT templates can be developed by Refract Logic, implementation partners, or customer teams using the documented REFRACT template model. For organizations that want to accelerate initial template creation, REFRACT Template Assist™ provides an assisted design path from existing document references, representative sample data, and business requirements. Teams can begin with their existing document designs instead of starting from a blank template. Template Assist is used during design time only. Templates are rendered through REFRACT PDF, validated against the actual output, refined, and reviewed before deployment. Production document generation remains deterministic.
